Hi Chubman, you can see the grave of King Philip, the father of Alexander the Great and the archaeological museum of Thessaloniki. Also don’t miss the statue of Alexander the Great. The biggest in the world and one of the few statues in the world (of that size) where the horse is standing on its two legs only.

A very good place, is the municipality Stageiron-Akanthou in Halkidiki.
Stageira is the birthplace of Aristotele and Akanthos is the ancient name of the place Ierissos, were there are lots of findings of an Ancient village there.
In Kozani also, you can visit the museum and see lots of ancient findings
If you want to visit other places, apart from Macedonia, Ancient Olympia is always a must-visit,Myceanes,Epidavros,etc

You may also go to the northern part of Macedonia which is not in Greece, but it is free country: Republic of Macedonia (if you are from EU you do not need anything more then a valid ID or passport).
There you may see the city of Ohrid, where the Cyrillic alphabet was “invented”. That alphabet now is used by more then 400 million people. In Ohrid there are a lot of churches and monasteries and the most beautiful lake on the Balkans (if not in Europe).

Just the Ohrid Lake (Ohridsko Ezero) should be the reason for trip like yours.
To see the natural beauty before it disappears forever under the tidal-wave of tourism should be on the travel list of every nature enthusiast.
