My children eat pasta almost every night with meatballs, chicken or whatever. I get tired of boiling pasta every day ot every other day. Can I just make it once a week and use that or would that be pushing it. I’m only talking about buttered pasta (no meat).
I try to avoid microwaving, especially for the little ones, as much as possible.

Maybe people do this all the time, I just usually boil water on the stove in a pot and cook it the old fashioned way. The problem is, we got a new cooktop and so my husband took out the old one and it was hauled away with last week’s trash, but he still hasn’t hooked up the new one. We’ve been eating a lot of sandwiches and also at my mom’s, but my son loves pasta with tomato sauce and I can’t make it for him. I don’t have one of those newfangled pasta makers for the microwave, but I do have a rice cooker, will that work? Any suggestions?

Pasta is supposed to be made out of durum wheat and eggs. Why is it so hard to find pasta with eggs in the US?

Ask any Italian, they will say that eggs are used to make pasta (oh yes, and durum wheat and olive oil, I think). In the US most pasta is made without eggs, except for the egg noodles. Why is that? And does anyone else also always look for pasta made with eggs?

I have one of those tupperware pasta holder things, but right now I have angel hair pasta in it (dried).I cooked Penne and put the leftover dried pasta from the Barilla box in a ziplock bag. I decided I wanted to make Mezzi Rigatoni pasta and now have the leftover dried pasta in another ziplock bag.
Will the ziplock bags keep the pasta fresh? Or should I only put them in tupperware?
